Intrepid Ltd is dedicated to reducing its carbon footprint as part of our commitment to environmental sustainability and corporate responsibility. As a company specialising in technical strategy, consulting, and development, we recognise the role that businesses like ours play in contributing to global emissions. Our goal is to align with the UK's ambitious carbon reduction targets and achieve Net Zero emissions by 2040.
Our approach to carbon reduction is rooted in our core values of innovation, responsibility, and continuous improvement. We understand that addressing climate change requires not only reducing emissions from direct operations but also embedding sustainability into every aspect of our business model. From the delivery of technical solutions to ongoing support services, we aim to implement energy-efficient practices and leverage technology to lower our environmental impact.
As we provide technical advice and solutions to small and medium businesses (SMBs), we believe that sustainability is not just an internal goal but an opportunity to lead by example and inspire our partners and clients to do the same. We are committed to identifying and mitigating emissions across our value chain, including Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions.
Our carbon reduction plan focuses on measurable initiatives such as transitioning to renewable energy in our offices, optimising business travel to reduce emissions, promoting remote work, and encouraging responsible supplier partnerships. In collaboration with key stakeholders, including employees, clients, and suppliers, we aim to implement effective strategies that will ensure a significant reduction in emissions over the next two decades.
By integrating sustainability into our core operations, Intrepid Ltd is poised to contribute to a low-carbon future while continuing to deliver world-class technical solutions for our clients.
Intrepid Ltd is fully committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040, in line with global efforts to combat climate change. As a provider of technical solutions to small and medium businesses (SMBs), we recognise our responsibility to reduce our environmental impact while maintaining excellence in service delivery.
To meet this target, we will focus on reducing emissions across our operations, including adopting renewable energy sources, optimising energy efficiency in our offices, and reducing carbon emissions from business travel. We will also work closely with our supply chain partners to ensure sustainable practices are embedded throughout our value chain.
Our commitment extends beyond compliance, aiming for continuous improvement and innovation in sustainable practices. By 2040, Intrepid Ltd aims to achieve Net Zero while empowering our clients to also adopt low-carbon technologies and strategies, driving collective progress toward a more sustainable future.
The baseline emissions footprint represents Intrepid Ltd’s first full year of carbon reporting and serves as the reference point against which future emissions reductions will be measured.
Total baseline emissions for this period were 2.5046 tCO₂e, comprising Scope 2 emissions from purchased electricity and Scope 3 emissions from business travel, employee commuting, and hotel stays. No Scope 1 emissions were recorded, reflecting the nature of the organisation’s operations.

Intrepid Ltd reports zero emissions across several categories, reflecting business processes and activities that are not currently material or applicable based on our business model, available data, and operational constraints.
Scope 1: Direct emissions
Intrepid Ltd operates with no owned or controlled facilities or vehicles that would produce direct emissions, resulting in zero Scope 1 emissions. Our business model relies on office-based operations and remote working.
Scope 3 categories:
Purchased goods and services and capital goods: Not material due to the nature of the organisation as a technology consulting firm.
Fuel and energy-related activities: Fully captured within Scope 2 emissions.
Upstream and downstream transportation: Not applicable due to lack of physical product distribution.
Waste: Minimal operational waste generated due to digital-first operations.
These factors ensure a minimal environmental impact across excluded categories.
Emissions have been reported in accordance with the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard and the UK Government greenhouse gas conversion factors.

This is Intrepid Ltd’s third year of emissions reporting. The baseline year (1st April 2024 – 31st March 2025) continues to be used as the reference point for tracking emissions and measuring progress against our carbon reduction targets.
Total emissions for the current reporting period are 3.0610 tCO₂e, reflecting an increase compared to the baseline year. This increase is primarily driven by improved data capture of employee commuting activity.
Emissions continue to be primarily driven by Scope 2 electricity consumption and Scope 3 activities, including employee commuting and business travel.
There have been no material changes to Intrepid Ltd’s organisational structure, operational boundaries, or carbon-intensive activities during this reporting period. Emissions changes reflect improved data completeness rather than operational expansion.
Intrepid Ltd is committed to reducing its carbon emissions in line with our goal of achieving Net Zero by 2040. Starting from a baseline of 3.0610 tCO₂e, we aim to progressively reduce emissions.
Short-term (2025): 20% reduction in Scope 2 emissions through renewable electricity transition
Medium-term (2030): 40% reduction in overall emissions through remote work and reduced travel
Long-term (2040): Net Zero across Scope 1, 2, and 3
Progress is currently on track, with no material deviations identified.
To achieve our Net Zero commitment by 2040, Intrepid Ltd will implement the following carbon reduction initiatives, aligned with the principles of ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems) and PAS 2060 (Carbon Neutrality):
Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (ISO 14001: Energy and Resource Management)
We will reduce our Scope 2 emissions by transitioning to 100% renewable energy sources for our offices by 2025. We will also implement energy-efficient practices, such as optimising heating, cooling, and lighting systems, and conducting regular energy audits to identify further opportunities for improvement.
Sustainable Business Travel (ISO 14001: Environmental Performance Monitoring)
To minimise Scope 3 emissions from business travel, we will adopt a “remote-first” policy where possible and invest in virtual collaboration tools. For necessary travel, we will prioritise low-carbon transportation options, such as rail over air travel, and encourage carpooling or electric vehicle use.
Employee Commuting and Remote Work (ISO 14001: Employee Engagement and Awareness)
We will actively promote remote working and flexible commuting options, reducing emissions from employee commuting. We will provide incentives for employees to use public transport, bicycles, or electric vehicles and work toward reducing commuting emissions by 25% by 2030.
Supply Chain Collaboration (ISO 14001: Life Cycle Perspective, PAS 2060: Stakeholder Engagement)
In line with PAS 2060 requirements, we will engage with key suppliers to assess and reduce carbon emissions in our supply chain. We will prioritise partnerships with suppliers who demonstrate strong sustainability credentials and will work with them to identify emission reduction opportunities.
Waste Reduction and Recycling (ISO 14001: Resource Efficiency)
Although Intrepid Ltd has minimal waste generation, we will implement a zero-waste policy in our offices by promoting recycling, reducing paper use, and encouraging digital documentation. We will also focus on minimising electronic waste through responsible IT hardware procurement and recycling programs.
Ongoing Monitoring and Reporting (ISO 14001: Continual Improvement, PAS 2060: Verification and Documentation)
We will establish a robust carbon monitoring and reporting system to track emissions and progress against reduction targets. Regular audits and performance reviews will ensure continual improvement and compliance with ISO 14001 and PAS 2060 standards.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.
Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard[1] and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting[2].
Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard[3].
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors (or equivalent management body).
